Where is our humanity?
The world around us is so unreal you begin to question your sanity. 3am becomes a rush of fear. It’s like standing on a ledge far above the ground and you can’t stop yourself leaning forward. Closer, closer to the edge, the final fall.
The divisions we cling to—right vs left, liberal vs conservative, democrat vs republican—are illusions. The real battle today is human vs non-human.
It’s a gleeful rush to end our humanity. Frogs in a pot. Madness.
I’ve always followed an ancient and immutable code of ethics, rooted in humanity, creativity, and connection. But these days, those values feel outdated in a world increasingly soulless, ruled by algorithms, leases, and ownership. We’ve replaced a heart beat with a profit graph, and seek to license life rather than experience it. We dream of early retirement to a life with no purpose and then are mystified as we slip into a depression no pill can touch.
Those values I spoke of—irrelevant or inconvenient?
The earth is threatening us, and who can blame it? Wildfires and floods. The scale busting our puny ideologies of what life should be, we are mocked by nature as we are shown what life is.
Don’t look away. Wake up. The pot slowly boils. The frogs languid in silky luxury.
We’ve forgotten the essential truth: we’re not here to own or control; we’re here to live, create, and connect. To be human is to care for each other and the planet that sustains us.
It’s time to step back from this robotic march and reclaim what makes us human. The earth’s warnings are loud and clear—will we finally listen?
Imagine for one minute you do listen. You hear our song on the wind. You touch the silence of deserts. You float off the earth into the stars above. Imagine this place and feel its presence in your life. The answers are there. They will not be spoken or even understood, but they will be felt. Open your eyes again and the differences and labels that separates us will disappear. Our humanity is there.
Our truth is untouched and unchanged. Fear leads to failure and love leads to future.
As always, thanks for reading and remember to drop a buck in me hat!
